In August 2001, Andre Barlow and Wayne Swanepoel, started Label and Print Technologies
The primary focus of the new company was to provide ‘self-adhesive solutions’ to customers in the market place. And of course, to have fun while doing it!
With the partners valuable experience gained in thermal printer and ribbon field, dealer relationships were set up to sell well established thermal transfer printers and thermal transfer ribbons.
Two months later, Corinna Carstens joined the company to take on overseeing production and accounts.
Early 2002, Deon De Waal, joined the new team to handle the flexo printing and converting responsibility.
In 2001, the first production asset, a flexo 3 colour printing machine, was purchased to provide colour labels as well as blank labels to the industry.
By early 2003, Label and Print Technologies relocated to bigger premises in Voortrekker Main Road, Maitland, Cape Town.
With the acquisition of Thermal Transfer ribbon converting equipment in 2005, further premises were obtained in Kensington.
At the end of 2007, the ribbon converting facility was moved next door to the label production facility in Maitland.
In December 2015, a full colour digital press was acquired in order to cover low volume, full colour photographic quality labels.
Label finishing machines for high build, foiling and embossing were added to the manufacturing process in early 2019 to print high quality wine labels.
Label and Print Technologies now comfortably print up to 6 colours with UV utilising the quality world recognised Mark Andy flexo printers.
Consistency of excellent print quality coupled with short lead times and friendly service ensures the continued healthy relationship between company and customer.
Both owners, Andre Barlow and Wayne Swanepoel remain actively involved with customers.

Smooth running of the operation is overseen by GM, Corinna Carstens
